We share a camp with our brother regiment, 26 Engineer Regiment. Who also specialise in close support, armoured engineering. We are a busy regiment, recently deploying to places such as Canada, Estonia, the Oman and Iraq. We use all of our skill sets when deployed, including our trades, combat engineer skills and basic soldiering.
What happened to the 1st Division Royal Engineers?
When the 1st Division returned to the United Kingdom, the regiment fell under the command of the 10th Armoured Division until 1957 when it shifted to Chiseldon, Wiltshire and joined the 3rd Infantry Division.
