Wonderful exhibits, fun for all ages. Reptile Gardens is a very well kept zoo, specializing in, well, reptiles. The grounds of the gardens are very nice; well taken care of with nice flowers. The exhibits are all in good shape.

Can I bring my dog to Reptile Gardens?
Well-behaved leashed dogs that are good around people and kids are allowed. Dogs are welcome inside the buildings to view the reptiles and at most if not all of the shows. Reptile Gardens is located on Highway 16, 5 miles south of Rapid City, heading towards Mt. Rushmore.

This varies according to the season. When it is chilly in spring and fall, our attraction is roughly 80% indoors and 20% outdoors. How long does it take to drive through Bear Country South Dakota?
Drive-Through Park Area It’s best to arrive near the opening time since the animals are more active during the morning’s cooler hours. It will take you about 20 to 30 minutes to drive slowly through the loop. The longest and most fun part of the loop is the black bear area, where you will get to see them everywhere.
