Filter cartridges are an essential feature of a Lay-Z-Spa pump as they filter out dirt and grime from the water in the hot tub to help keep it clean and healthy. They also prevent this dirt from getting into the pump and heater which could cause damage and reduce its lifespan.
How do I know what size filter for my hot tub?
Always start by measuring the width (diameter) of your old cartridge across the outside edges of the end cap at its widest point. Note: Measurements may vary by about 1/8″ due to expansion, shrinkage, etc. For example, if you measure as a 5″ diameter, and can’t find a match, it may actually be a 4-15/16″ filter, etc.
How often should you change hot tub water?

We recommend customers to change their hot tub water every 3 to 4 months. The reason we recommend this is that as your continue to add more chlorine, it will start to dissolve slower and slower until the chlorine doesn’t dissolve in your hot tub anymore.
Can I wash hot tub filter in dishwasher?
DO NOT clean spa filters in the dishwasher! It’s not very effective and could damage the filter. Dry dishwasher soap is OK, but laundry detergent is NOT OK. Remember to rinse the filter thoroughly after soaking to remove all chemical traces.
