What Is a draw hunt?
Each year, a hunter who is unsuccessful in drawing a tag for a particular species receives a bonus point for that animal. The next year, that hunter’s name goes into the drawing an additional time for each bonus point they’ve accumulated.
How do Texas draw hunts work?
Texas uses a “Loyalty Points” system to incentivize hunters to apply each year and give them a higher likelihood of being drawn the longer they participate. Points accumulate each year and are specific to the “hunt category” you apply for.
