When did the Dodge Cummins 12 valve fitment come out?
Fitment: 1989-1998 For Dodge Cummins 12 valve engines 5.9BT. (This kit has a reversible Dowel Pin Retainer that can be used with the VE pump engines.) The dowel pin used in the Cummins engine can back out of its bore. When it does, it can fall into the camshaft gear and cause all types of expensive engine damage.

Quick tap with a punch and hammer, covered with this tab; red locktite on the threads; good for another 300k. Fit and finish was good, used on a 01 ram 2500 with the 24v cummins.
Where is the step on a KDP kit?
These year engines have a step, or shelf, between the tab retaining bolt, and the dowel pin. These kits come with a bent tab to accommodate the step. Unfortunately the labor involved to access the KDP and cover it with the cover tab is time consuming.
