What is the newest version of NVSE?
NVSE will support the latest version of Fallout available on Steam, and only this version (currently 1.4. 0.525). We also support the 1.4. 0.518 version of the NV GECK.

Does xNVSE replace NVSE?
It is absolutely fine to use xNVSE. It does everything the ancient version of NVSE does and won’t cause any mods to break by updating it. Produces the programming equivalent of coffee stains.
How do I update NVSE on Reddit?
First download the latest update for NVSE. Then open your Fallout New Vegas directory. (Where your FalloutNV.exe is locate along with all your other game files) then drag all the files from the NVSE update file you downloaded into the Fallout New Vegas directory and overwrite when prompted.
Does NVSE disable achievements?
Yes it does. One mod does re-enable achievements if you use console commands. JIP LN NVSE.
Are NVSE and xNVSE the same?
xNVSE (NVSE Version 6+) is a community maintained copy of NVSE which improves upon certain functionality of the Script Extender to allow for more advanced modding projects from the community.
Is xNVSE the same as NVSE?
xNVSE. It’s just a bug fixed optimized NVSE.
How do you install NVSE?
Open a command prompt window, navigate to your NV install direcory, and type “nvse_loader -editor”. Alternately you can create a shortcut to nvse_loader.exe, open the properties window and add “-editor” to the Target field. The normal editor can open plugins with these extended scripts, but it cannot recompile them and will give errors if you try.
How to launch NVSE through steam properly?
nvse_steam_loader.dll even allows you to launch right from Steam if you desrie to. I just use NVSE.exe myself and NMM for modding. Step 1.Install NVSE. Step 2. launch via NVSE.exe. Step 3. Play game and get credit just as you normally do. Step 4. Be happy that you did not go though a bunch of unessary hoops.
Which NVSE to use?
– Download nvse_6_0_7.7z (or whatever the latest version is) – Extract all files inside the nvse_6_0_7 folder to your game folder (where FalloutNV.exe is located) – Run the game using nvse_loader.exe – To confirm it is working, open the console with the tilde (`) key and type GetNVSEVersion. This will display the version number of the current NVSE build.
