Edit. Wehrmacht Ostheer or Ostheer for short is one of the two factions featured in Company of Heroes: Eastern Front. It is the third Axis faction beside Wehrmacht and Panzer Elite from the previous expansion. Judging by their Command Doctrine it is likely their playing style are somewhat a role specific faction.

What’s the difference between the two? From the Steam page I get that Legacy is the original version, and that what’s just called “Company of Heroes” on Steam now is the version that used to be called “New Steam Edition”. That one apparently has support for multiplayer and mods.

It got disbanded, and people went home, however some of it was incorporated into Bundeswehr (West Germany) and to lesser extend National People’s Army. Which is to say some of the people who served with Wehrmacht went on to join the above two.
