What is Nagai nori?
Nagai Nori was established in 1947, and have been manufacturing and selling seaweeds since then. We mainly sell seaweed, but we also sell shiitake mushrooms and health foods from Japan. We have acquired ISO9001 in 2003 for the higher quality and safety.

Where is nori native to?
“Nori” is the Japanese name for a group of edible algae that grows naturally on rocks in shallow areas of cold-water oceans. In English, this type of seaweed is called laver, and it is collected and eaten in some coastal parts of the British Isles. (In Wales, you can still get breakfasts featuring laver bread.)
Where can I use nori?
It is consumed for breakfast with fish and rice, eaten as a snack dunked in soy sauce and used to wrap balls of rice. In recent years, the snack approach has begun to catch on in the U.S. Nori now is sold in small potato chip-like strips, often seasoned with sea salt.
What is gold grade nori?
Higher grades, such as gold has a jet black hue to it, becoming lighter colours down the grades. (Jet black- black- dark green- green). Also, better quality nori is identified by its sheen. As the nori grades go down, sometimes nori sheets are a bit thinner, and contains another kind of seaweed.
Does nori contain lead?
Seaweed can absorb and store minerals in concentrated amounts ( 8 ). This poses a health risk, as seaweed can also contain large amounts of toxic heavy metals such as cadmium, mercury and lead.

Can I eat nori sheets?

What is the difference between gold and silver nori?

What is the difference between nori and GIM?
This is Gim (Korean), but Gim is actually the same thing as Nori (Japanese) – just different languages. The difference is that the Korean version is seasoned with oil, salt and toasted. Nori tends to either be raw or toasted only (no seasoning). But the base ingredient (seaweed) is exactly the same.
