Can you do the PTS course online?
The online program provides candidates with the opportunity to put their knowledge to the test and must be completed before we can offer a place on our PTS course in London. Sponsorship is also required – either from a railway company or current or future employer.
Is PTS rail training free?
Our fully funded training opportunities will be offered to those who demonstrate a keen interest in starting a career either on or near the track. Please note that the fully funded training opportunities are free of charge to the learner, however they are subject to eligibility.

How long is PTS valid for?

The PTS Card is a qualification that you get through Network Rail as an employee of a rail engineering company with an allocated sponsor. The card is issued by Network Rail’s chosen identity card scheme called Sentinel and is valid for 5 years.
How do I get a PTS sponsor?

Is the PTS course sufficient for me?
The PTS course is insufficient for those wishing to carry out any work which will affect the geometry of the track in any way. For that a person must attend a 10 day Track Induction Course. Please note VAT will be added to the course price at checkout.
