Look left for a stone path, and you will enter the Shrine of Winter. If you have all four souls or sufficient Soul Memory, the Black Gate will open and you can proceed through the other doorway, and down the path to take you to the Castle.

How do I get under the castle in Drangleic?

From the king’s gate bonfire go to the room with the stone statues and enter the door with the ruin sentinel on the far left. The ground will break giving you access to the bonfire.

From the Central Castle Drangleic bonfire, head down the hallway with the descending stairs until you reach a small circular room. Ride the rising platform up to find the room containing her. Use the Key to the Embedded to free her. She will immediately disappear if talked to and you’ll get the Ring of the Dead.

The Demon gained knowledge and learned to lure humans into its lair. It is called the Demon of Song because it sings with a sonorous voice to lure people close, so that it may devour them. Within close proximity to its lair we find a Milfanito who appears to be hollow, and cannot sing.

Knowing that his time was short and that his queen had to be stopped, Vendrick created several impasses that would prevent Nashandra from seizing the throne, and sealed himself away in the Undead Crypt. This left Nashandra the sole ruler of Drangleic, albeit without much left to rule at all.
