‘Kings’ does a respectable job for such a project in taking the basic premise from the Bible. While ‘God’ might be mentioned, there was NO bashing of other faiths or heavy-handed proselytizing to make anybody go green and turn it off. That is a commendable route for Michael Green and company to take.

But yeah, Sebastian Stan is one of the “Excellents”. The story itself is what’s weak. Certainly not a series that will appeal to everyone, “Kings” nevertheless is exceptional for its refusal to conform to typical broadcast TV formulas.
