Due to the number of COVID-19 cases in Travis County, the LBJ Library’s Research Room will be closed to the public beginning December 21 and until further notice. Public events are not being scheduled until further notice.

Why is LBJ Library Austin?
The idea for the LBJ Presidential Library was born in 1965 when The University of Texas at Austin offered to donate land and provide the funds to construct President Johnson’s library and establish the LBJ School of Public Affairs on campus. And President Johnson wanted to leave his own mark on it.
