Can you cure Virgil?
The cure is located within the FEV lab, in the room with the test chambers, inside a machine. Simply travel to the Institute and retrieve it, fighting through the defenses. Once returned to Virgil, he will inject himself and become human after 72 hours pass.
What happens when you cure Virgil?
After giving the serum to Virgil, wait three days and return to find he has transformed back into a human. Speak with him again and he will offer the player character his lab for use, which will make all items therein available for looting.
What happens if you don’t give Virgil the serum?
If you destroyed the Institute without giving Virgil the serum that would have cured him (see The Glowing Sea), he will want to kill you, making killing him an easy decision. If you did cure him, you can still kill him or let him go.
Does Virgil ever turn human?
If the player character gives Virgil the serum and waits three days, they can go back and see that Virgil is now a normal human. After this, all the items inside the cave become available for looting. If the Sole Survivor destroys the Institute before giving the serum to Virgil, he may turn hostile after a monologue.

Does strong dislike power armor?
Strong seems to like the very first suit of T-45 power armor found in Concord at the Museum of Freedom, but disapproves of all others, saying “human look like robot.”
How do you get strong to idolize you?
Allow me to elaborate; you can get strong to adore/idolize you simply by going out, exploring and killing. So you do not necessarily need to do things your companion “loves” or “likes” for him to gain approval. I can confirm this is true for Curie and many people seem to agree it works for Strong too.

For example, John Hancock, Piper, Nick Valentine, Codsworth, Deacon and Curie like the player’s choice to cure Virgil, but Danse won’t like it at all; this is due to what happened to his friend Cutler. Strong also won’t like it as he prefers being a Super Mutant and is angry with the doctor’s ambitions to cure the others.
